Racist Genocide in New Orleans Continues: 'Like 911 But Add Water'

SYNOPSIS: Racist Genocide in New Orleans Continues: 'Like 911 But Add Water' A renaissance of Black resistance and leadership as the leading edge of revolution is what the postmodern slavemasters fear most of all in the "homeland". Hurricane Katrina was no surprise, no act of 'mother nature', gods, or bureaucratic incompetence. The geographic and human impact of a major hurricane on New Orleans was manmade and calculated in detail. It is genocide.... a crime of U.S. imperialist state terrorism, a premeditated physical and psychological attack on the Black Nation to destroy its strength, pride, cultural cohesion and resistance to capitalist white supremacy. A crucial part of the U.S. strategy for global domination, Katrina and the brutal aftermath was engineered to serve this fascist agenda in two interrelated ways: uprooting, dispersing and weakening the Black Nation, while inflaming racist support for the consolidation of a fascist mode of state capitalism under the guise of "rescue, relief and recovery” from a “natural disaster.” RACIST GENOCIDE IN NEW ORLEANS: "LIKE 911 BUT ADD WATER" By Liz Burbank The river rose all day, The river rose all night. Some people got lost in the flood, Some people got away all right. The river have busted through clear down to Plaquemine: Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline. Louisiana, Louisiana, They're trying to wash us away, They're trying to wash us away. -- Randy Newman, Louisiana 1927 "KATRINA" WAS PREMEDITATED RACIST GENOCIDE, NO 'NATURAL' DISASTER: * "If you look at the World Trade Center [911] collapsing, it'll be like that, but add water… There will be debris flying around, and you're going to be in the water with snakes, rodents, nutria and fish from the lake. It's not going to be nice." http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf?/washingaway/thebigone_1.html IMAGE IS CAPITAL Image is capital in wake of the storm: It's very hard to "convey a positive image" when the "general public" sees you stacking corpses like cordwood. Business executive James Reiss helicoptered in employees of an Israeli security company to guard his house and those of his neighbors. Reiss told the Journal that New Orleans must be rebuilt with fewer poor people. *"Those who want to see this city rebuilt want to see it done in a completely different way — demographically, geographically and politically … or we're out." http://www.latimes.com/news/columnists/cl-et-rutten10sep10,1,5504126.column?coll=la-news-columns New Orleans is crime scene: a crime of U.S. imperialist state terrorism, a premeditated physical and psychological attack on the Black Nation to destroy its strength, pride, cultural cohesion and resistance to capitalist white supremacy. This barbaric attack must be exposed for what it is: a crucial part of the U.S. strategy for global domination. Katrina and the aftermath was engineered to serve this agenda in two interrelated ways: uprooting, dispersing and weakening the Black Nation, while inflaming racist support for the consolidation of a fascist mode of state capitalism under the guise of "rescue, relief and recovery” from a “natural disaster.” Though capitalist media accounts continue to mainly be complicit in this racist holocaust, inevitably reality eventually trumps propaganda so the truth can never be totally whitewashed: this holocaust is added to the peoples' arsenal of indictments of U.S. imperialism for its unprecedented crimes against humanity: BACK TO THE FUTURE: WHITE SUPREMACIST DEMOCRACY IS THE LYNCHPIN OF U.S, CAPITALISM and ITS FINAL GRAVEDIGGER Old Abe, he never told a lie... * "I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) 16th US President Source: Fourth Debate with Stephen A. Douglas at Charleston, Illinois, September 18, 1858 (The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume III, pp. 145-146.) The blood and bones, the labor and lives, of millions of Indigenous peoples and Black slaves were the building blocks of white supremacist north America. The same racist "manifest destiny" on which this country was built drove capitalist expansion in its crusade for global empire. The culmination today is the barbaric imperialist war to conquer and rule the world. A Black nation, forged of social, political and cultural bonds in the struggle against slavery, grew into irrepressible Black national resistance for liberation from institutionalized oppression. Undefeated by the barbarism of north american capitalism, the Black nation became the leading political edge of revolutionary resistance to U.S. capitalism and the major threat to the lynchpin that secures the rule of capital. Creating and inflaming divisions within the multinational working class, and between it and the broader society, capitalism's national oppression of "minorities" spews the ideological toxin of racism that secures white nationalist patriotic loyalty. Today, as global resistance slaps U.S. imperialism silly, internationalist anti-imperialism— galvanized and fortified by Black resistance in the "homeland" -- looms as the death-knell threatening imperialist america's fascist agenda. Revolutionary Black nationalism, merged with a multinational working class, has always been the major internal threat to capitalist rule. From the fields, factories, prisons, churches and ghettos to the battlefields of Vietnam, Blacks led the struggle against injustice, racism and the system that requires wars for empire. Black soldiers inspired by the heroic struggle of the Vietnamese against US imperialism, brought the war home. A powerful Black liberation movement led by the Black Panther Party grew into the revolutionary upsurge of the 1960s and 70's. Here in the belly of the beast millions were aroused and united, across classes and colors, in solidarity with the national liberation struggles burning across the Third World. An anti-imperialist and socialist revolutionary world was at U.S. imperialism’s front door. The rule of capitalist white supremacy was threatened for the first time. Today U.S. capitalism is in deep structural crisis. Historically it has used world wars to resolve major crises by expanding its empire's domination to eliminate competition and resistance. The bogus "war on terrorism" is a world war of a new type, a futile fascistic attempt to permanently solidify its global rule over a "new world order". This "war on terrorism" is an imperialist war of state terror against all opposition to its global white Christian-zionist "manifest destiny". As this fascist fantasy suffers irreparable defeats -- by the Iraqi National Resistance, by resistance on every continent forcing the u.s. to endlessly expand its "big lies"and its military brutality, it generates increasing hatred and resistance to U.S. imperialism worldwide, and a slow political awakening in the "homeland": U.S. state terrorism, in trying to destroy all opposition to its agenda, arouses its gravediggers: the oppressed and exploited worldwide. A renaissance of Black resistance and leadership as the leading edge of revolution is what the postmodern slavemasters fear most of all in the "homeland". A "CATASTROPHIC SUCCESS": CALCULATED HOLOCAUST and LINKS IN THE CHAINS of POST-MODERN SLAVERY [See Appendix B for definitions of terms 'genocide, ‘crimes against humanity’] Hurricane Katrina was no surprise, no act of 'mother nature', the gods, or the result of bureaucratic incompetence. The geographic and human impact of a major hurricane on New Orleans was manmade and calculated in detail. It is genocide. Subjecting the 90% Black population of lower New Orleans to terror, degradation, destruction and death, making a million mostly Black people who built this country displaced "refugees" with non-status, is business as usual in U.S. history. What's new is that capitalism's ruthless racism became visible to millions who until then, had the class and race privilege to remain untouched by, even unaware of, its savage reality. This time, the whole world watched in horror. They saw that capitalist democracy means treating poor Black people worse than animals--postmodern slavery. They saw how democracy, i.e. capitalism-exporting thugs deliberately prevented an exodus from Katrina -- and the arrival of assistance in the wake of their perfect storm. The Greyhound bus terminal and Amtrak had shut down Saturday night, so the poor without wheels were forced to stay. Those forced into the Superdome were literally imprisoned amidst sewage and corpses. A stunned Spanish politician tourist and spouse trapped in the Superdome sputtered in disbelief to the camera, "this is genocide, imprisoning tens of thousands of people without food, water, sanitation, medical care..." Almost instantly the couple was removed by the martial-law troops, and thousands of mostly Black survivors, all now destitute and desperate by the hands of the state, watched in despair and fury the added degradation of being treated like dangerous criminals from whom the state had to rescue "good" people. It wasn't accidental and it wasn't unique: a white British soccer team and other whites were also "rescued" from “danger” by the state and moved to "safer" locations -- away from Blacks and their intended genocidal fate. The people imprisoned in that hell were mainly magnificent, supporting each other under unbearably inhuman conditions with selfless ingenuity and heroism, helping each other cling to life without food, water, fresh air, or sanitation, for days. Some Black men had to "loot" guns in order to protect helpless people from the marauding, armed white thugs. They organized "looted" food and medicine distribution according to need, an inspiring microcosm of how we the people eventually will organize ourselves and our societies when we get the parasites off our backs. Thousands of such beautiful, true stories were deliberately twisted or buried by the complicit capitalist media under piles of inflammatory racist rumors and allegations --later admittedly false or "exaggerated" by "unnamed sources" to pervert the public's growing anger at the government into racist support for the military occupation. * A CATASTROPHIC SUCCESS Jeff Wells ...Let's not kid ourselves: counting those now dead and those surely soon to die, there are likely to be thousands, even tens of thousands of fatalities. There's a Tuesday night conversation with a paramedic in Gulf Port, Mississippi reported on Free Republic. He described scenes of bodies hanging in trees and entire families found drowned in their homes. When told the official number of dead, "he got very quiet," then said "dude, we are picking up 30 at a time...thousands are dead. Why aren't they saying...? I guess I better shut up then - don't give my name." Perhaps they'll be counted like the dead of Iraq, and we'll never know the truth, only believe it. The magnitude of the devastation, and the rapidly deteriorating situation in New Orleans, seems finally to be dawning on the corporate media. Still, the lead story too often is "looting," like it too often isn't when the looters are CEOs stealing the necessities of someone else's life. We ought to remember Donald Rumsfeld's analysis of the tearing of another city's social fabric: "The images you are seeing on television you are seeing over and over and over, and it's the same picture of some person walking out of some building with a vase, and you see it 20 times and you think, 'My goodness, were there that many vases?'" New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin is "very upset" an attempt to plug the breach in the levee was called off, and doesn't know by whom: "He said the sandbags were ready and all the helicopter had to do was 'show up'.... He was assured that officials had a plan and a timeline to drop the sandbags on the levee breach." He is still not sure who gave the order to cancel it. At another Press Conference, Nagin complained about being unable to reach the White House, as the White House said they were in constant communication, and FEMA representatives claimed everything were under control. Since 2003, Washington has been diverting funds intended for the repair of the New Orleans' levee system and pouring them into the breach of Iraq. Nearly half of Louisiana's National Guard are also in Iraq, I suppose to fight the hurricane over there so we don't have to fight it over here. Instead of the protection of the Guard, the Gulf Coast is falling under the authority of Northern Command ("Defending the Homeland is Job #1") which, since it's creation in 2002, has been a violation of the spirit and the law of the Posse Comitatus Act. But never mind that now, since martial law has made land in New Orleans. There is something unnatural about this. I don't mean to suggest that the hurricane was driven by HAARP or scalar waves, though I could. Because as I've said before, we are entering a period of human history - the final period, if we don't watch ourselves - in which our speaking of the natural world means little more than a nostalgic conceit. That which used to be expressly "Acts of God" are being folded into the mission of the US military. Hurricanes are steered by winds in the upper atmosphere, and HAARP gives the Pentagon "strategic control over the upper atmosphere." [...] PREDICTIONS,PROJECTIONS, PLANS: AMERICAN HAS ALWAYS MEANT WHITE (Toni Morrison:Playing in the Dark) With precise foreknowledge of the effects of a major storm, funds were switched to the bogus "war on terrorism"/“homeland security”--BECAUSE the ongoing racist genocide in New Orleans is a crucial part of the global U.S. PNAC/NSS agenda for global rule. * ''Miss, with great respect for your race, I don't see no white people here''  www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050903.wxstorm03/BNStory/ * "If you look at the World Trade Center collapsing, it'll be like that, but add water… There will be debris flying around, and you're going to be in the water with snakes, rodents, nutria and fish from the lake. Meanwhile whites-only trains evacuated the city. As it happened, the levees of New Orleans held up -- because pressure on them was released by dynamiting levees below the city -- so the floodwaters drowned out the Cajuns in the swamps. The bitter popular reaction to all that was what helped bring Huey Long, “the Kingfish,” to power. This is the historical precedent for what many believe was deliberate bombing of the levees to drown the poor Black section of New Orleans * "The Great New Orleans Land Grab: The 17th Street Canal levee was breached on purpose. It now appears that a sophisticated plan was Implemented that utilized the ‘cover of a hurricane’ to first destroy and then take over the City of New Orleans." http://www.aztlan.net/new_orleans_land_grab.htm * The people were told a barge broke the canal. Several people related the same story that early in the morning, they heard an explosion. Then the water poured in -- before the rains came. Many believe the levee was dynamited to drain the canal into the Lower Ninth Ward rather than the wealthier neighborhoods. This is not paranoia. The levees have been dynamited before for just that reason. In the 1920s the levees were intentionally dynamited to save other areas of New Orleans and many people still suspect the same thing happened in the 1960s when there were many unexplained levee breaks... http://www.commongroundrelief.org/ * Warnings Were Loud and Clear: But Still City Drowned “If there is a smoking gun in the Gulf Coast wreckage, it is the hurricane warning issued by the New Orleans office of the US National Weather Service soon after 10am on August 28, the eve of Katrina’s arrival.” http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,23889-1770245_1,00.html * After the Deluge: Baghdad on the Bayou “’After the storm,’ he told me almost as soon as I sat down, ‘they blew the levees up so they could flood New Orleans.’ I asked him who ‘they’ were. ‘The money people,’ he answered. ‘The big money.’ ‘Why?’ I asked. Robert shook his head at my naiveté. ‘They had to get the poor people out so they could get the space.’ He gestured to the thousands of people in the dome around us, almost all of them African-American, crammed onto cots a few inches apart. ‘Now they got their space. We survived the storm,’ Robert went on. ‘We survived the wind and the rain. After the storm passed, the water started rising, and all you heard was ‘Boom!’’ The explosions, he said, were the levees blowing. ‘Ask any of these people. The hurricane wasn’t that bad, but the opportunity came up.’ It was a real estate grab, Robert explained — gentrification with a genocidal edge.” http://www.laweekly.com/ink/05/42/after-ehrenreich.php * Coverup: The dynamiting of the New Orleans levee system. Moreover, the federal government’s ‘benign neglect’ of the disaster that has struck New Orleans would seem to fit the hypothesis, in fact, it’s almost a ‘dry run’ for what now seems to be a foretaste of what we can expect to be a ‘normal’ event in the future. It is disgraceful that thousands of hurricane refugees — including the elderly, the infirm, the sick, mothers with babes in arms, children separated from parents — have been essentially abandoned in the Superdome and the convention centre, left to fend for themselves without food or water. Lashed by a hurricane, then flooded out of their homes and abandoned with no food, drinking water, shelter, or medical attention, the people of the American Gulf Coast died, probably by the thousands – victims of the imperial war machine just as surely as if they had been bombed in al-Fallujah or rocketed in Gaza. Shocked and amazed at the indifference of the American administration to the plight of victims in its own country, leaders around the world stepped forward to offer help.  Even presidents of countries targeted by the regime in Washington for destabilization and assassination, Fidel Castro of Cuba and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, offered to send in doctors, medicine, oil and supplies for the victims of US government indifference while Bush offered little more than suggestions that private charities fill the breach left by the imperial war deficit... The winds of Katrina have swept away the camouflage hiding the fact that the young men and women of America’s working classes who put on American uniforms serve only the narrow interests of a greedy elite.  It is a matter of supreme indifference to that elite whether the working people and their families drown at home or blow up in the deserts of Iraq or Afghanistan so long as the economic and geo-strategic interests of imperialism and Zionism are advanced... Using all the appropriate means at our disposal – from the guns and rockets of the Iraqi Resistance fighters, to the protests and strikes of displaced and exploited American workers – we must join hands to form a world-wide front. Together, in every theater of the struggle, we must escalate our common fight for an end to the global imperial adventure and its world of man-made disasters! The Editorial Board of the Free Arab Voice (FAV) North American Committee Against Zionism and Imperialism (NACAZAI) A CRIME OF COMMISSION - NOT OMISSION: STATE-ORCHESTRATED HOLOCAUST A "CATASTROPHIC SUCCESS": "Good job Brownie" Bush said, referring to the state's intention to destroy and disperse the Black Nation in New Orleans, whitewash the crime with grotesque staged photo ops, blaming the victims, state and local authorities and finally a phony confession of bureaocratic "incompetence" as pretext for further tightening the fascist reins of state. The post-storm holocaust was also carefully engineered: the state deliberately withheld assistance –- FEMA blocked ambulances, airplanes, ships, trucks of water, food, medicine and other essential supplies. That’s why no amphibious military vehicles or boats rescued people from the Superdome, which backs right up to the water, that’s why five days late the Federal 'rescue' was a military occupation of the poorest Black areas to "keep order" and prevent resistance by those damned by this system to die in its cesspools. It is why after the momentarily brave media dared portray the results of the government's racist brutality they were put back in place and overnight began "finding" white victims with endless photo ops and stories of recovery and hope. The state maintained control of its media -- but not in time to stop a horrified world from watching the most powerful state in history murder its Black citizens in cold blood. *Listening to Your Neighbors Die "I heard her die," Williams said.
